Kokuyo Secret Magic of Night (Blue & Pink)

Sora's back~! With another Kokuyo Series this week! It's the Secret Magic of Night Series~!

I'm not sure if there are other colours to these, but I bought blue and pink. They are under the brand of Kokuyo which has a very popular eraser brand, Matomaru-Kun. Matomaru means to gather or to assemble in Japanese and ALL of the erasers under this brand passes my eraser test. You will see more of this series in the future.

These series uses light colours to create a very dreamy and fantasy-like motif, with cute bunny and bear characters. The blue one claims that it is Champagne Soda scented while the pink one claims that it is peach scented. I don't want to remove the plastic wrap so can't tell you my opinion of the smell.

Though I have never used these erasers, they are exactly the same as normal Matomaru-Kun erasers, which I have used many times. They tend to be very soft and is very similar, if not identical to Pentel's Soft Eraser ( in the green case, to be introduced in the future). The eraser is very soft and (to me) has a very satisfying texture when erasing. It has a problem though. (Pentel's Soft Eraser also has the same thing.) The eraser is very soft and hence, when you are erasing, the eraser slowly gets cut by the edge of the casing and eventually break. This results in the eraser being visually unpleasing and also not being able to use it to the maximum potential.

Name: Kokuyo Matomaru-Kun, Secret Magic of Night
Price: Probably about $2.05 each
Place I bought it at: Kinokuniya, Liang Court
Length: about 4.5 cm

Kokuyo Resare Green Frozen Colour

Hello everyone~! Sora's Back! Today will be another singles! Kokuyo's Resare, frozen colour in green! I wanted this in blue but it was sold out... There was also the premium colour (I think?) which is a pastel series but I wanted this translucent-ish one so I just took green.

Kokuyo is popular for its Campus series, mainly in notebooks but their erasers are interesting as well. (more to come in the future) Although the design is simple, I feel that the colour of the eraser is visually pleasing. It does pass my eraser test but because this is for collection purposes, I have never used Resare before. ( I do want to buy 2 blues, 1 for collection and one for school though)

Name: Kokuyo Resare Frozen Colour (Green)
Price: I forgot
Place I bought it at: City Hall Funan Digitalife Mall Stationery Shop
Length: About 6 cm

Faber-Castell Dust-Free Black Eraser

I'm back~! Today, I will put the packet series (more to come, erasers and memo) on hold first, and move to another singles!

Today will be Faber-Castell Dust-Free Black Eraser! Unlike many erasers in my collection, it is not visually pleasing but it passes my eraser test! One thing I feel that is good about black erasers is that pencil lead stains on the eraser and pen ink that may accidentally get on them is not obvious. During lessons, I find myself erasing white paper to make my while eraser covered in pencil lead stains to look clean. ( I'm currently using the Pentel Hi-Polymer basic eraser in blue casing)

Name: Faber-Castell Dust-Free Black Eraser
Price: I forgot again
Place: Probably Popular
Length: about 6.3 cm

Sorry for that pink eraser in the second picture! The ruler wouldn't stand straight. It will appear in more measurement photos so get used to it.

About My Eraser Test

Hello again~! Because my Awashuwa Soda Eraser introduction is very short, I will also introduce my eraser test today, for the sake of my future eraser introductions.

The 'good eraser test' is a skill I learnt from my father when I was young. We would go shopping for stationery together when the stock (that my father keeps) runs out. For erasers, he would usually pick those that were in value packs. He would then squish them, then pass it to me for squishing while saying "This is what a good eraser feels like."

Although due to preferences, my 'good eraser test' may not be agreeable to all, but for me, it works 99% well.

Staedtler erasers tend to fail my test but are very good erasers (personal opinion), which I discovered after my mum bought a pack of 5 home and I had to finish them before I could get new ones. I feel that they erase well and I love the texture when I erase.

On the other hand, Pilot Foam Erasers do pass my the test but do not fit my personal preferences. I just don't enjoy the texture when it erases but it still does its job well.

Yup! So the 'good eraser test' that I have mentioned and will mention from now on is just simply squishing the eraser and judging from years of experience whether it will be good or not.

So till next Saturday with another eraser introduction, Adieu!

Awashuwa Cola Packet Erasers

Back again~! Today, Sora will be introducing Awashuwa Cola Erasers~! Before we move on about the erasers, Awa means bubbles, or in this case, foam, while shuwa is an onomatopoeia for the foam.

The erasers are in the form on the foam characters as shown in the packaging. They are red erasers with the shape of clouds and the character printed on in white. Each packet contains 6 erasers. I'm sorry I didn't want to destroy the packaging so I can't take out the erasers and show you how they look like. ( Get your own :P) The packaging claims that they are Cola scented.

There is a side by side comparison of the one I bought in Malaysia( a shop called Tokyo Station) and The one I bought in Daiso. Daiso's Packet seems a tiny bit smaller and the packaging design is different.

Name: Awashuwa Erasers (Cola)
Price: $2.00(Daiso)/4.50 Ringgit (Tokyo Station)
Place I bought it: IMM, Daiso/ Malaysia, Kuching, Tokyo Station

Though I didn't buy it from there, Big Box also has a shop where all the things are $2.00, found near the industrial freezer and botanic shop. It has products similar, if not, identical to these.

The front has"make me most" (??) with different colored backgrounds and patterns at the bottom. The back has the different suits of a poker card (which is why I call it suits collection) with " nothing is impossible to a willing mind" (which probably makes more sense). As I have mentioned,I have never used Ain before but they passed my eraser test.
